We are looking for a motivated and experienced Truck Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for coordinating freight assignments, managing driver schedules, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods while adhering to all regulatory compliance standards. 1. Load Planning & Assignment: Find and assign freight, matching trucks to location, equipment type, driver availability, and hours-of-service limits.
2. Driver Coordination: Communicate trip details, pickup/delivery instructions, and track necessary documents. Ensure drivers comply with regulations and manage schedules to avoid violations.
3. Load Tracking & Monitoring: Use GPS/ELD systems to monitor truck locations and provide updates to brokers, shippers, and receivers. Resolve delays by adjusting schedules.
4. Problem-Solving on the Road: Manage breakdowns, accidents, weather delays, and other emergencies, coordinating with roadside assistance.
5. Broker & Customer Communication: Negotiate rates with brokers, maintain relationships, provide updates, and manage exceptions (like load rejections).
6. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all proper paperwork (BOL, permits, etc.) is completed and complies with DOT/FMCSA regulations. Keep detailed records of trips, detention, and layover charges.
