Southwest Freightlines is a leading cross-border trucking company providing reliable, efficient, and cost-effective transportation services across the U.S. and Mexico. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tire Program Technician to oversee our truck and trailer tire management program.
Position Summary:
The Tire Program Technician will be responsible for managing all aspects of our tire program, including inventory control, installation, inspection, and ensuring proper maintenance of truck and trailer tires. This position plays a key role in reducing downtime, improving safety, and optimizing tire usage for cost containment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage tire inventory for the entire fleet, ensuring accuracy and availability.
• Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation; rotate as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of tire usage, replacements, and repairs.
• Coordinate with mechanics and shop manager to ensure proper tire selection and setup for each vehicle.
• Monitor tire performance and identify trends to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Assist with coverage in the parts dept / restock / inventory
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and DOT regulations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in tire maintenance, preferably for commercial trucks and trailers.
• Basic mechanical knowledge (brakes, suspensions, hubs, etc.).
• Tire service certification preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed.
