Even though this DGH1B has a working older Disklavier player system built in it, we are focusing on the acoustic piano here — a very well-maintained Japanese-built GH1 baby grand — and we have priced it accordingly.
In addition to their well-known performance pianos, Yamaha has always produced a more affordable baby grand for “home” use. The 5’ 3” GH1B was that model in the mid-1980-90s.
Built in Japan, the GH1B had a lighter scale design compared to the C1 institutional model and was not intended for heavy institutional use. Still, it has an impressive dynamic range for a small grand – excellent for someone wanting to step up from a vertical or digital piano and enjoy the increased dynamics and pleasure of a grand piano touch.
