Many people feel that the early 20th Century was the “Golden Era” of American piano making. All the finest materials were available locally to the builders. These pianos were extremely well made and are known for their huge, rich, and dynamic sound.
As you can see, at some point in its recent past, this B had its inner workings rebuilt and the cabinet was completely refinished. The soundboard is original Adirondack spruce and is in good shape. The cabinet is quite stunning with its natural flamed mahogany veneer and early 20th Century furniture details.
The Model B is Steinway’s most successful piano, found in countless music institutions, schools, churches, and is hugely popular amongst professional pianists and teachers.
This particular B is an exceptional value at this price for a dedicated pianist.
