Irrigation Technician

Accent Landscape Contractors is seeking a dependable , self-motivated Irrigation Technician to join our Commercial Maintenance Division. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining com m erc ial irrigation systems throughout the El Paso area. The technician will be assigned a company service truck and will work independently, responding to irrigation issues reported by maintenance crews and property managers .
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Respond to irrigation service requests at assigned commercial properties.
• Troubleshoot irrigation system failures and identify the source of leaks, pressure loss, electrical issues, or coverage problem s.
• Repair broken mainli nes , lateral lines, swing joints, fitt ings, valves, valve boxes, quick couplers , and sprinkler heads.
• Replace and adjust spray heads, rot ors, nozzles, bubblers, and drip irrigation components.
• Diagnose and repair irrigation valves, valve wiring, and solenoid s.
• Locate and repair underground pipe leaks.
• Prog ram, troubleshoot , and adjust irrigation controllers and timers.
• Perform routine inspections to verify pro per irri gation coverage , operat ing pressures, and system perform anc e.
• Identify dry spots, overspray , ru noff , and other irrigat ion defic ienc ies, making adjustments as needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting two-wire irrigation syst em s.
• Operate valve locat ors, wire trac ers, and other irrigation diagnostic equipment when necessary.
• Ensure turf, trees, shrubs, and landscape beds receive adequate irrigation while promoting water conservat ion .
• Maintain accurate service records, work acknowledgments, and documentation for completed repairs.
• Communicate repair recommendations and issu es beyond your scope to your supervisor.
• Maintain an organized inventory of repair parts, fittings, valves, sprinkler heads, and tools on the service truck.
• Keep the assigned company vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
Provide professional customer service while working on occupied commercial properties.
Qualifications
• 1-2 years of commercial irrigation experience preferred .
• Knowledge of commercial irrigation systems, including spray heads, rotors, drip irrigation , valves, cont roll ers , and backflow components.
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical issues within irrigation systems is preferred .
• Familiarity with two-wire irrigation systems is preferred.
• Texas Licensed Irrigation Technician preferred , but not required.
• Ability to read irrigation plans is a plus.
• Valid Te xas driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize daily service calls.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work outdoors in ext rem e heat, cold , wind, and occasional rain .
• Ability to lift andcarry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to dig by hand, bend , kneel, squat , climb, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power t ool s, and t renc hing equipment as needed.
Compensation
Starting Pay: $14.00-$16.00 per hour, depending on experiencc.
